“Exploration really is the essence of the human spirit. And to pause, to falter, to turn our back on the quest for knowledge is to perish, and I hope that we never forget that.” – Colonel Frank Borman
While the Apollo program’s mission to land on the Moon is the primary focus of all of the films up to this point, this quarterly report starts out by devoting a significant amount of time to the progress of the Apollo Applications Program, detailing the current status of hardware development and testing as well as the program’s objectives and goals. From here, attention switches back to Apollo, covering the hardware construction, assembly, and checkout of Apollo 10 and 11 as well as reviewing the Apollo 9 mission, completed in early March 1969.
