This home movie, shot by Austin filmmaker Ramon Galindo, captures a visit to the Manned Spacecraft Center (MSC) in Houston. Renamed the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center in 1973, MSC was one of the primary focal points of NASA’s manned spaceflight program during Project Apollo, developing spacecraft, training astronauts, and flight controlling manned missions from liftoff through recovery. In this footage—likely shot in the late 1960s or early 1970s—Galindo drives around the facility, filming the outside of several buildings as well as the Apollo-era artifacts on display, such as the Lunar Module and a Mercury-Redstone launch vehicle.
